T-tops

Does anyone have close up pics of the front along the windshield and the back where they mount. Need pics with the tops out. Thanks in advance.

Re: T-tops

I too am about to do the conversion. Problem is I was told that it's not a good idea. There is additional reinforcement needed along the center bar. Even though the car is set up for t-tops and all are born t top cars, the ones that left the factory had this additional piece. Was told of people that have done this conversion have cracked t tops going over bumps and cracking widshield when jacking up the car. This kinda freaks me out a bit. Did you have any problems?

NO

I have bad speed bumps in my apartment complex. TO the point if I go over it slowly with 2 people int he car I bottom out. I have hit those things going a good 35-45.

hopped a curb

-I have been to 3 autocrosses
-numerous trips to the track
-jacked my car a good 10 times, one side at a time.

No problems no notices in any structural integrity what so ever.

Guy that helped me with my t-tops had a facotry t-top car we looked over it, several times and didn't notice any differences.

He has done the conversion on another car had no problems or saw any differnces either.

I have heard problems with 3rd gens but not 4th gens.

peopel think hardtop cars are all sorts of extra reinforced compared to the t-top car. Differnces are a few pieces of flimsy metal spot welded, not even that many spot welds. And a composite roof that is flimsier then poster board.
