My Car

I bought the 2000 Z28 new '99, my daily driver.

 

Great lookin car. Although some here might tell you that you'd be wise to lose the bra. I've heard it's bad for paint and it holds moisture.

But in my opinion, damn fine Z.

 

yeah, my advice, loose the bra ASAP. it will trap not only moister, but dirt under it, therefore ruining the paint and causing, at least in some cases, rust...

 

I've had the bra on there since 2000 b/c here in S.E. Tx bugs are a big problem. After the first spring I had the car, I spent many hrs. scrubbing off may flies & other incects. The only place I've had paint scrathes is on the side front bumper in front of the tires. Dirt gets trapped inside the velcro strap & rubs. Otherwise, I've had no problems. I keep it waxed regularly and that helps. It's very difficult to keep a white car clean. The bra stays off during the winter when there are fewer bugs & I can't wash the car as often as I'd like.

 

yeah, i'm not a big fan of bras either no matter how many bugs are around.

 

Well, the bra has been on for the better part of 5 years w/o major paint damage. As long as you keep the underside clean & keep a coating of wax underneath, you shouldn't have problems. I've seen cars that are not taken care of have some major damage b/c of dirt scraping the paint.

*edit: My car is garage kept, so it has less exposure to the elements, too.

It's stock other than the mods listed in my sig. Smarta$$. After the mortgage, insurance, food, gas, etc. there's not much left over for after market wheels & such. It's clean & goes fast. That's what I care about.

Hey! where'd you get my car!? Exact same paint job and body style. Cept mine's 02, sans car bra, and has stock exhaust.
