Re: t top conversion
I did it. It is in no doubt a lot of work but you can do it. Nothing extremely hard. I wish i had an electric sawzall instead of a pneumatic one. Also, get a pneumatic die grinder with a big cutting disc and you will be flying. It took me a few days to get it all fitted and i don't have my interior done yet but eveyrone who has rode in it thinks it is the coolest thing ever. I still have to paint and get it 100% leak proof, but i am close.
Re: t top conversion
Just completed it. No big deal once you get past the fear of cutting the roof off. Here are a couple of pics......

Re: t top conversion
I doubt you will find a place to do it. It is too labor intensive, too time consuming, and takes many days of fine tuning. My mom asked around a little bit before I did it because she doubts my ability. Body shop said its too much of a liability, dealership said im crazy, custom shop said they could do it but its gonna cost more than i paid for the car

I'd do it for cheap, prob. about 1000. Some "custom" car shops arent what all they crack up to be!
Re: t top conversion
That and the fact that most shops don't realize how "easy" it is to do.... Most think they will have to cut the roof off a t-top car and weld it back on to your car, is the only way it would work.
They don't realize the stuff is all there to do it. If a body shop had actually done one, they would probably do it for like $1k-$2k + parts.

Re: t top conversion
usredzcamaro - It's not hard. Do a search in the apprearance section for T-Tops Conversion. You'll find more information than you can shake a stick at. I'd do mine myself, I just don't have the time. I'm getting a friend on here to do it for me since he's done quite a few already.
Talk to fellow board member red blur, he can do it for a good price. He lives in north Dallas, so he's not far from you. I'm about to have him do mine. I believe he's asking $300 for the labor, if you bring your own parts.
That's probably because that is the way to do it for a 3rd gen F-Body. Even though the oldest 4th gen is 12 years old now, they are still relatively new to body shops. I printed out the instructions with pictures a year back and showed it to a buddy who worked at a shop and he said it looked easy, but they would want some cash for it.
