Suncoast Creation SS Hood

Well after searching and going through every SS hood thread I finally did it. I ordered the ss hood and airbox from suncoast. I noticed some people were happy with it and some hated it!

I hope I get to be one of the happy ones The hood only cost me $170. Youre probably wondering how is that possible:

Well a couple of weeks ago I went to atlantic city for the first time..played on the slot machines, on my 6th quater the machine went crazy, Not sure what was going on cuz Ive never done this stuff before. Some guy comes over to congratulate me and then he gives me $750!!! I won $750 on a slot machine. I put that money in my pocket and went home.

I think the total of the hood and shipping came out to like 915 or so. So the diffrence was only $170. So thats my story

Have a friend whose a mechanic and has bodyshop connections. He told me the paint and install wont be all that much. Maybe $100. Its good to have connetions!! I think Ill have the hood painted black and the grill part in the scoop paint red. Ill post pics once its all installed. Gotta wait 10 days for the hood. Waiting is so hard

good luck with the hood, some people say that they aren't good or that they didn't fit right.. but some of the problem is from the fenders that have " moved" over time

I wish I had your luck!

Good Choice

Good choice going with the SCC hood!!! I bought a ws6 style hood for my old trans am from them and it was great. I had it shipped to the body shop that my friend owns and when it got there he said that it was the best aftermarket body panel he had ever seen. The thing needed practicaly no prep work just paint and fit. I'm sure you will have a good experience as well. and congrats on your purchase.

Well its good to see someone had a good experience with suncoast.

I dont see whats the big deal if it doesnt fit. Bodyshops are experienced with these kind of things so they should be able to make it fit and make it look all good. right?

I have a question bout the scoop. Is it possibele for rain/water to get in there?

The "big deal" is paying $700 for a hood, and then having to pay a body shop $60-$100 per hour to get it to fit right, but theres only so much they can do. After two cowl hoods, $400 in labor in trying to get them to look right, I now have the stock hood back on. My hood(s) had gaps >1/2" after fitting by a body shop, and the first one sat nearly 1/2" higher than the fender at the front edge near the headlight. A $500-$700 hood should fit, period. Shawn (still looking for an aftermarket hood that fits worth a $hit)

Glad someone else came over to the Dark side of things. I also have a SCC hood (the Zstyle) on my husbands 95 Z28.
The paint shop I took the car so has NEVER seen a hood arrived in that good of shape before.

As for cost of these hoods I would pay extra for a nice quality hood.
total cost for the hood & Paint job for us was nearly $4k but that was also for a special paint job.
