stipes paint or vinyl

Should I have the 35th stripes painted on or get the vinyl decals. Any benefits with either set up? Thanks for any input. Thanks.

Price is not really a problem...Just wondering if one is really better than the other.

paint won't chip or peel as fast, and will look better

sounds cool.

Here are my options

1.) http://www.camarographics.com/CustomerPages/MattH.htm
painted on

or

2.)http://www.camarographics.com/SideFlags.htm
vinyl 35 stripes and side flags also.

Side flags are kind of cool, but I think it gets a tad overdone with that

Paint if you can afford it.
Vinyl if you can't.

Ok I went with the side flags and stripe in vynal since your asking about this. Persoanlly with the vynal I get a 7 year warrenty and they cost a 10th basically of what it would cost to paint them on. I researched it in Houston when doing mine. The one thing about vynal i didn't like though is that if something chips the area where the stripe was it will show the color of the car were as if it was paint the same color would still sow up as the color of the stripes. Hope that made some since. Personally I like vynal and if ya want to see some pics of my car pm.

I don't get what you're trying to say kaoticcamaross.

Hey Hambone, I want to see that thing when you get it looking spiffy.

I was trying to say is you go with vynal say the strip is black on a white car like mine. If a rock hits it, it will put a hole in the strip and you will have llike a spot of white in your black strip. Where as if it is painted it won't.

If cost was not a factor, I would go with painted stripes. They would last as long as the paint on the car and the vinyl ones could get messed up or start to peel.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I am going to go with painted on. I am getting the entire job done including the stipes painted on for $2300.. using PPG global paint and a lifetime warranty by this shop that has had cars in hot rod magizine. Probably will be leaving the side flags off though. Thanks again.

Hey,
I have my hood scoop in vinyl, but will have it painted later this year.

One more vote for having it painted.

I had vinyl stripes before i wrecked my car(its fixed but no stripes now).. I had to be very careful when washing them and they loose there shine over time... The anneversary stripe kit has mostly rounded edges so I wouldnt worry if I were you.. BUt even then when you wax it you get little white lines around the stripes and when you get the car looking amazingly shiny the stripes dont match so well... And i tried!!!! maybe i had some cheap stripes.. DEFINATLY painted is the way to go in my opinion.. And i think those side things are over doing it a bit.. Just my .02
