Obviously you do. But adding Trans Am and WS6 badges was still a very "gay", "Ricey", "Poser" (pick whichever words offends you the least) thing to do.

Why the heck should anyone support a Poser? I would have mucho respect for this guy if he removed the badges and advertised it for what it really is. A beautiful looking Firebird. Nothing more and nothing less.

Depends on what your definition of better is. If you go to the drag strip the general difinition of better is quicker. Not trap speed, not looks, not sterio equipment but rather who has the quickest ET and crosses that finish line first. I would fall into this crowd so my answer is yes. My car will be quicker and therefore is better then his by my definition.

Now there might be others who only care about how loud the sterio gets, how much flash you have inside and out and what the rims look like. Many people in that crowd would say no. So I guess it comes down to which group you assosiate more with. Although there are those who have the best of both worlds (modded v8 engine for speed and car show looks). Thier answer to that question would depend on thier individual personality I suppose.

Bottom line:

Making it look like a Trans Am WS6 =

Badging it to represent itself as a Trans Am or WS6 =

The whole problem with that V6 "Trans Am" was that the guy was passing it off as a Trans Am when it was not. I liked most of what he did, but he should have at least kept the Firebird logos on it. It's not like having the script "Firebird" on your car is really all that bad! I think the guy trying to pass it off as a true WS6 Trans Am was insulting. Trans Am has a very large following, and the car has to live up to it's reputation. I know that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but the guy flat out lied about what his car was and went a few steps too far IMO. Trans Am Body Kit / Hood / Wheels on a V6 'bird = Putting Trans Am lettering all over the V6 Firebird you just did all that too = Same goes for imports or domestic 'tuners'. Don't put an SI symbol on your Cavalier or a V-Tec logo on your Neon Come on people, that's just retarded. You do stuff like that and you're bound to get poked fun at.

Re: This is starting to get stupid, shouldn't we support each other?

I don't like it when people ruin their Camaros with ridiculous exterior mods, so I can't support that. Here's a list:
-Billet grills look stupid on almost every 4th gen
-painting the eyeshadow on early 4th gens body color looks stupid
-removing the Camaro logo from the nose looks stupid
-most ground effects look bad
-cowl hoods look ridiculous
-most aftermarket spoilers look stupid
-many aftermarket taillights look ridiculous
-but let's not forget the worst stuff, and that is the plethora of ugly or stupid exhaust tips --Borla ones with the Borla logo etched in them and all of the long ones that stick out about 6 inches from the bumper
-stickers all over the car and engine bay are lame too, you aren't getting paid for the advertising, so why advertise for the company?

I don't really mind people changing other things on the cars, except I just really don't like shift kits or NOS. I think all early 4th gens need upgraded brakes, so that is one thing I think is a great mod that I haven't bothered doing... then again, I haven't bothered doing any mods because most of them cost a lot of money, make gas mileage worse, and nearly all of the appearance ones make the Camaros look goofy.

The guy's nickname was 2CNTRY I believe....all he was doing was asking a simple question. I believe it was the guy named "Shobox" who told him that if he doesn't know how to do a simple wiring then he should read a book or take a class. The guy didn't like the comment and took issue with it. That's when everyone came to Shobox's defense and bashed 2 country stating that he was stupid. Then the moderator bashed him for defending himself, and it spun out of control until the guy got booted I think. I tried to find it but I guess it was deleted.

These issues come up a lot. I have read them for some time but only post occasionally.

As far as the aesthetics goes, giving a civil, yet candid opinion about a vehicle when asked for opinions is valid. Just a lot of youngens on this site is the problem.

Excuse me sir, not to be troublesome, but putting Trans Am badges on your V6 Firebird is gay.

Thank you for your time.

cip.

Thinking something is gay is fine. Telling someone it is gay when they didn't ask your opinion is totally gay. If they asked for your opinion, then they open themselves to such criticism which I don't think is too harsh. Depends how sensitive you are. Telling them THEY are gay for doing that is wrong.

A rule to live by when using the internet: Don't say to them online what you wouldn't say to them in person.

Gay is the new pink.

( I figured since people were posting worthless comments I would do the same.)

Lets just take his simple post for what it is... Lets try and support fellow enthusiasts rather than bash them.

Cant we all get along and hold hands, singing cumbia(sp).....

There is no stupid/foolish questions asked, just ones that have been repeated many times... Search people search.... It takes alittle time and patience, but usually its there somewhere......

I dont know the particulars of this V6 Firebird thread, but if people were upfront about it, and stated something to the effect, that I like the body style of the TransAm/WS6 and was making a "V6 replica".... There would be no negative comments made, maybe.... As for bashing( ie: its sucks, etc), just shows the lack of intelligents of some people..... If its not your style, just say, "It's not my taste/style."...

As for styles, to each his/her own...... I personally like the '70s look, and my 93Z will reflect that theme when I am finished.... Bash away, you wont hurt my feelings..

...

Tell us how you REALLY feel about modding a car. Damn, man, I take it you don't believe in car shows OR dragstrips? You just drive your car because it's a Camaro and that's it, eh? lol
