Question SS Spoiler

Anyone know where I can get a 98 and up SS Spoiler. I know Year one has them but $9xx.00 for a spoiler? Thats just crazy.

Im really looking for a direct OEM replacment but if anyone has or knows of a really really good repo that might be alright.

Also I noticed SLP is offering the 96-97 oem replacments now. Does anyone here think they may do the same for the 98 and up sometime in the next year or so? Or am I just hoping for something that won't happen.

Thanks
~Jim~

Re: SS Spoiler

So the RK sport is pretty good. Does it have the same lip that the actual spoiler does? And does it fit really well?

What about theSpoilerCompany. That guy on ebay?

I just want to make sure that I dont get something that im not looking for.
Thanks

Yep, the RK Sport is a carbon copy of the GM spoiler.

Re: SS Spoiler

beware, one of the copy spoilers doesn't have the exact dimensions, at the front of it, it gets super close to the hatch (barely enough to squeaze a finger in between.

Can't remember where from.....just be careful

Re: SS Spoiler

See thats what I'm talkin about. I want to avoid that kind of thing at all cost. I'd be pretty upset if I payed about 500 for a spoiler and paint and the lines are off.

Anyone else have any expirence with these aftermarket spoiler?

Re: SS Spoiler

I've never noticed that SLP didn't offer them til now. I just checked the catalog I got in the mail from them several weeks ago, and '98-'02 spoilers aren't in there for some reason. Weird.

GMpartsdirect.com doesn't have it either...

I'm not positive, but I "believe" SLP did not make the spoilers for the '98-'02 SSes. I read a long time ago that some other company "may" have been involved with GM in producing the spoilers, but I don't remember who. During '98-'02, GM was building SSes at Ste. Therese in Canada (where the Camaros were made) unlike back in '96 and '97 (when they would have SLP modify Z28s into SSes whereever SLP is located). During '98-'02, they only had SLP put hoods on them and perform modifications dealerships ordered that GM didn't do (such as the 345 HP exhaust package and the 35th Anniversary SS package) I think.

Sorry, but what I said may be inaccurate. If anybody has the real info, feel free to contribute it.

Re: SS Spoiler

Here's a post I had about it:

Re: SS Spoiler

RK sport is overpriced and they RAPE you for shipping... EVEN ground shipping!

You can find one cheeper.... check the Classified sections here and LS1Tech. -I know there's a couple for sale there.

Spoiler deopt is pretty affordable. I'll probably be going through them.

Re: SS Spoiler

the LED on my spoiler depot piece doesn't bother me, it's not that small. What bothers me is the gap between the pilars and the hatch. Yeah It's filled by the gasket stuff they send you, but it would be nice if it came down all the way like it's supposed to.
