SS Hood painted and Installed

I just got my SS hood installed yesterday.........came out pretty good.

It lines up perfect in the back and in the front, but the lower sides are a little high....I think I need to move the front of my fenders up to fix the problem....any sugestions would be awsome.

Turn the rubber bump stops at the corners of the car (above the headlights) to see if that'll let the hood sit down a little more flush.

It actually is in the hood.......I can push it down with my hands but it won't stay down........damn fiberglass hood. I wish they made these in steel.

I think I will try to move just the front of the fender, or maybe pull down the latch a little.

So you're saying the hood isn't touching the bumpers beneath it?

No I don't think it is, I will have to check when I get home. I can push the sides of the hood down with my hand without alot of pressure.

It doesnt look bad at all. There is no way to move the fender up unless you oblong the holes in the front but when you do that your going to change the gap inbetween the door and fender.Ie You'll have a smaller gap at the top of the door and bigger at the bottom. Also The front bumper inserts into the fender so its wouldnt move hardly at all because of the bumper brackets.I've seen alot of people use hood pins but I think It looks pretty damn good the way it is.

you should be able to adjust the hood from the mounting points and the front latch. Getting a hood set properly is a b!tch. Good luck

my only suggestion is to remove the ss badges because it is not an ss, never has been, and never will be. I'm sure it doesn't have all the slp options, and nor does it have ss wheels. take those off and stop being a poser. just my .02...

A little harsh, but I feel pretty much the same way. I mean, whats wrong with it just being a Z28?

Hood looks great though. It's lined up much better than mine.

Wow Ok sorry if I offend any real SS owners for wanting my car to look like an SS. I didn't have an extra $10K laying around to buy a real one at this time, but I am in love with the appearance of the LT1 SS. I have never claimed it to be an SS and nor will I, I am just amazed on how many people have nothing better to do than jump all over someone about nothing.
All I asked was for some help and opinions on my new hood, nothing about badges or wheels. just my .02...

hey man, wasnt trying to come off rude, just being real. Like he said, whats wrong with "z28"? I love the look of an ss too, but id say if you had like red z28 badges it would look better. and maybe a red manta stripe on the hood. not trying to be a dyck.

Looks good.

Do you have an LT1 SS spoiler too? I can't decide if I want the LT1 SS, or get the LS1 SS spoiler (slightly taller) and cut off the supports in the middle. I plan to get a VFN cowl hood with it, I'll keep my Z28 badges though.

You can have the appearance of an SS without the badges though. And you say you never "claimed" it to be an SS, but when you put SS badges on it you are definitely at least leading people on to believe it's an SS.

The car really does look great though.
