SS Hood

I am looking to buy an SS Hood for my 94 Camaro Z28 Convertible and I was wondering what type to buy or if there is anyone out there that has the original metal ones from an old SS. I have the ram air box i just need the hood, which has to be functional.

I just bought a used Suncoast Creations hood from a member on here for $250 shipped - I think, I don't remember. I haven't gotten it yet, but from the pictures he sent me, it looks like it lines up pretty good.

Look around the classifieds, you can find great deals.

The original SS hoods were not fully metal FYI. They are made from a material/process called SMC (sheet metal composite). The fit and finish of a SMC hood is far superior to any fiberglass reproductions. I had an RK Sport SS hood for a while but got tired of the wavy finish and overall poor fit, plus I swear the thing was shrinking! There was a brief time you could buy SLP's SS hoods through GM Restoration Parts (don't know if it is still offered) and I did that. Pricey, yes, but the fit and finish is OEM.
