"SS" on headrest of a 2000

Can someone tell me why/how some Camaro SS (98-02) have SS on the headrest and some dont? Was this a special option? I am the second owner of my car so I dont know if the first owner did this him/her self or is this factory. Thank you all for your help.

Post a picture of it. The previous owner may have had it embroidered.

hmmm, Sorry but I haven't learn how to post a picture in my post yet, but if you go to my photo album you can see it on there.
I have seen this on other Camaros, but maybe they added it too.

Looks like vinyl. What's it made out of? It isn't original to the car.

Leather, I have seen this before tho, I dont know, I was just curious about it cause I have seen this on other cars too. Its not a big deal to me, it actually looks pretty nice in person.

Well, I wouldn't remove it, it looks just fine.

You sure it's leather? Is it sewn on or glued?

Well, now you got me wondering. Yes, I believe its leather it looks the same as other leather interior Camaros (at least in person ). The SS is glued on I believe, these actually look just like the SS emblems in the Fenders.

Well, if they're glued on, then they're definitely not original to the car. Anything that appeared in the headrests of 4th generation Camaros was embroidered, not applied. If that design isn't made up entirely of stitching, then it's something someone added to the seats.

There a shop I know of that will put some ss or z28 emblems or ur head rest. They look great and to the unknowing look like they came with the car ,but they are not factory. Having said that though I think they look great and wouldnt even consider removing them.
