SLP CME, Get your SLP CMEs...

I'm not usually one to rain/hate on others' parades BUT, this is just redonkulous.

Check out the crazy good price they're offering if you choose to "Buy it Now."

The buy it now price is outrageous, but the current bid price is good.

Warning though! Our tips like that broke and we couldn't find anyone to weld it for us! Aluminum requires a heliarc welder in order to not break again (what I was told). Only custom motorcycle shops tend to have those.

On the other hand, the reason we couldn't get it welded is because we didn't want to remove the tips from the car, and motorcycle shops won't work on a car for insurance purposes...

Fortunately the great guys at SLP provided us a new set of tips with the extra metal piece welded on. (Our's was the original early-production type with only the small piece of cast aluminum holding them together.)

Um that's what people have been paying for those setups lately. Nasty price, yes, but people have been paying it.

i would think a good custom shop could do that for around 400 or less easily(the exhuast part anyway and even that is probly way high seeing as a true dual setup can be had for about 600 all the way out the back in most areas.. though i spent 200 on mine lol), why anyone would pay that i dont know... the valance would be the only hard part to come by. and doesnt rksport make an aftermarket cme valance?

I've also seen them going for those prices as well on ebay and at ls1.com etc.

Right now there is a valance on ebay at >$700, and tips going for >$350. That is with a day and a half left.

I'm the guy that was selling that valance and tips. If you look at any of my feedback it is 100% anywhere you look. If you talk to anyone that knows me they'll say I'm a nice guy. The only reason I sold it for that much was because people are willing to pay for it at that price. My grandma is sick and I need money to save up for the trip down to Mexico to go see her.

It sold for 1000 plus shipping and they're only going to go up in price. I remember people bitching when they were $400 for a completely new setup. I've approached a couple of local shops to start making a completely new setup and I was told that they could make it and sell it at a reasonable price, but the hard part would be to make the valance. You'd have to modify a RK Sport valance, which won't look right. Their valance is lower than the SLP valance and has the tips coming out through the bumper.

Anyway, this was an investment for me. It's just like any other selling a house after prices had gone up on it. People weren't willing to pay my buy it now price, but they met my reserve. The person that bought it from me seems to be a true enthusiast and is happy on how he spent his money.
