Side moldings

What is the best way to remove these side moldings on a '93 Z28? Does anybody have pics of it done? Will I be able to buff the glue of the body? What do you guys suggest? Also, I still have my stock salad shooter wheels, and I was thinking about sand blasting them. What do you guys think about that? I painted them a couple of years ago but the paint was cheap and is peeling off right now, so I figured that sand blasting them would make them look alot better than they do now. I just wanted to get some opinions about it. Thanks again guys.

I've heard of people using floss and "walking" it down behind the molding. You can use something like "Goof Off" to get the glue off of there. For the wheels, sandblasting them will probably help get a new coat of paint to stick better. I'm not sure what color your car is, so I can't suggest a paint color. Personally, I like the salad shooters in silver. I think they just look cheap in black.

My car is red and I thought about black paint but I went with silver but the paint didn't stick we at all. What about just leaving it bare after I sand blast it? Or would I run into problems with discoloration later?

+1, but I used that and tried bug and tar remover, both worked fine. Under the emblem, however, is tough to get off of my car. I need a wheel eraser by 3M to get the residue off.

I'm just removing the moldings because they are starting to look really bad no matter what I do to clean them. The emblem is staying.

You must not have cleaned them very well before painting, because they should accept paint with no problem. If you don't paint them after blasting, they'll look like s**t in a week.
