Is the side molding paintable?

I may be getting my car painted soon, and I was wondering if the side molding on the doors is paintable, I can't tell if it is or not or if that needs to be removed and rebought.

I spraybombed mine cause mine had a white milky hue to it when I first got my car. It looked great for a year or so, but then the sun bleached it out again. I ended up just removing the side molding all together.

I don't really want to take it off since I like it, but it is faded a little bit. It'd probably need to be painted anyway or replace it since I'll be getting it painted in a darker shade of red.

Well, if you really want to keep it, just tape off everyything around it and just spraybomb it. cheap and easy solution.

I'd imagine you could spray it and just make sure the paint and clearcoat is UV resistant so the paint doesn't fade.

Alright, that answered my question. I just wasn't sure because it kinda looked like there was a piece of plastic or something over the paint on the modling. :-\
