Re: Shaved door handles?
It is a bad idea, once and for all, unless you have the power of God to keep it from moving...Mine has been re-done using SMC, fiberglass, all kinds of burying ideas etc...By a paint shop that produces magazine cars..Unless your car is white, which is harder to see, I wouldn't do it. My passenger side is perfect, the driver's side is still slightly noticeable in the right light/heat conditions. The problem is the doors expand and contract at different rates than whatever material you use to shave the doors, so it can show up, plain and simple.

plain an simple, someone needs to get the ball rollin from one of the companies that make aftermarket hoods/spoilers for our cars and make a door skin that has no handle pockets as mentioned above. looks good, but it cant be worth the trouble and money to keep fixin them.

Re: Shaved door handles?
I've redone my sevral times... fiberglass... flexible filler... and lastly.. I used a urethane compound... the urethan held shape the longest... but know it's starting to show... I think this time around I'm going to cut the Handel area out all together, and put a sheet of aluminum behind there... and just fill it in with the urethane compound. BTW shave door handles look great on any car really.
