Shaved door handles

The car is going into the garage for a complete tear down, so it's ok to jinx myself now.

For anyone that says that the shaved doorhandles will crack, fall out or become otherwise damaged, i say...NOT MINE.
Three years, parked outside 2 winters, driven one, climbing in and out of the window because the tweaked frame wont let the drivers door open easily, still looks as good as the day i did it.
I did the handles myself, and have pretty much NO experience with bondo. Just wanted to put that out there, i am sure they will be cracked tomorrow now that I said it, but no matter, time to tear it apart.

more power to you

I don't have the guts to do body work to the car yet, the only thing I'm working on is the engine.

Lately, I don't. Before the twisted frame, I justhit the unlock button on my remote. I have it wired to the solenoids that open the door.

Yep, I used the nylon material, soaked in bondo, wadded it into the holes, then covered it with more bondo. Was messy as hell, but worth it.

I second that.. WooT

I wish I had a welding machine.. I drew up some plans for "scissor doors".. All I need to do is get some stock hinges, cut and weld...

Some tracks around here are like that, but after I ask how they get nascar drivers out after a wreck, most of them let me go. A few of them make me run a cable up next to the window to release the door.
