Angry scraped rim

Got new ZR1's 6 weeks ago, and the wife jumped a curb yesterday and scratched the hell out of about 2.5 inches if rim!
Looking for a way to improve/repair the damage.
Found this website, bit the damage is done to the chrome lip- no painting necessary.
I was thinking of taking a dremel to the scrape to see if I could take the rough stuff down and help it blend into the rest of the rim a little more- either that or an emery cloth...
Any other ideas?

2.5 inches of rims is a lot, if they are chrome maybe you can re dip them I don't know.

I think the lesson to be learned here is don't let your wife/girlfriend drive your car. My girlfriend has Mille Miglia's on her car and they are all rashed up now, especially the passanger side.
