Sand blasting car

Hey all, recently a tree fell on my car while I was driving down the road, and I've got all the replacement parts but I need suggestions on sanding them. I've got a regular sander and a campbell-hausfield sandblaster w/ air compressor, I sanded down most of the fender using the electric sander but can't get in the edges so I figured I'd use the sandblaster for that, but I got a whole new front end for the car (currently red, and my car is black) and I've heard a few ppl mention it might damage it to send blast it. It's a front end for a 1989 Chevrolet Camaro RS Convertable, also the tail fins (or whatever they are called, comes down both sides on the convertable model), one needs replacing, other needs repainting, would it be wise to sand blast it or should I use electric sander? Any input/suggestions would be very much appreciated.
