Replacing Fender??

How much work is it to replace a front fender? Do you need any special tools? I have a pretty good knowledge of cars, but have never done this before. Is this something that can be accomplished in a weekend? Am I over my head?

Well it depends. Is the new fender painted? Need tools and stuff to paint it with. Is the old fender from an accident, may need to do some work. As far as a replacement job it's simple. My two cents.

If you have a phillips screwdriver, socket set, and some time, you can do it. There are 6 bolts (I believe) along the inside by the hood, 6 screws around the bottom inside the tire wheel well, and 2 that you have to get to from underneath that are inside by the headlights. There is also a screw thats a pain to get to behind the z28 emblem...or where that would be. Get this one last because you need the wiggle room to get back there. Also try and put this screw on first when you put the new fender on. Just take your time and get all of the screws. I did it with no knowledge of how to do it in about an hr. I did end up with some pinched fingers..but this is totally feasible for an afternoon project. PM me if you'd like any details. And proof I know what I am talking about:

Good luck

^ I'll take this guy's word over mine but I took off a fender on my 99 Accord to push out a dent. All I can say is that it was a pain in the ***. have some towls on hand to cover other body parts if you need and just be very cognesent of where tabs and metal is while you are messing around with the fender itself.

Oh, also wouldnt be a bad idea to have a friend helping you. That way, he/she can hold the fender if you need to get to bolts or screws.
