Repainting the vehicle a completly different color

I have no equipment or experience so I would have to pay to have this done. I am interested in changing the color of my vehicle. The current paint is starting to hurt a little due to idiots in parking lots and bad weather. What would be a good estimate on having this completed?

Thanks.

I'm jealous. A reputable place around here charged my brother that much to paint the front half of his car and blend it.

Depnds what you consider "Right". Alot of places will only paint exterior parts that can be seen. They won't paint door jams, under hood and such areas.
I would say a complete color change depending on how good of a job they do can range from $1500 to $5000

I guess it depends where in Texas I got quoted 2100 for a same color repaint.
This was at a "very good" shop that does nothing but old hot rod show cars.

Go to Maaco! Under $400

Oh, not to hijack your post or anything, but how much do you guys think it would cost to paint just the two rear quarter panels? I am getting an SS spoiler and currently have the RS type that is drilled into the sides and I need those holes filled and painted?

Maaco? I think not.....

I demand my paint to last more than three years and come with clearcoat.....

Maaco is for old beater cars you want to get an extra $500 for and you shell out $200 for their cheapest job.

IMO doing it "right" would include painting the doorjambs, under the hood, etc. I was told it would cost thousands to do it correctly. The car would basically have to be disassembled, which would be very labor intensive.

Re: Repainting the vehicle a completly different color

Depends on how Intense you want to go, I had my car repainted a new color for $1500, exterior only. Done right and what not sanded down, dings/dents filled. So she looks like new but inside door jamb and hatch and hood are different colors. I may try to paint them myself into a black color (car is silver). I've gotten estimates for "painting it right" that are around $3000-4000 if I wanted the whole car painted inside and out. It was just more then I could stomach on top of the $1500 worth of frame damage and $1000 in body parts.

This may qualify as dummass question of the day but..........

In order to paint under the hood - does the engine need to be removed?
