Cool Repainting the 1996SS. Should I go millennium yellow?

Hey Guys,

If you didn't read my topic in The Lounge here's a brief summary: My SS and a deer got into an argument and they both lost There is one less deer and the front of the SS is smashed up

I'll be dropping the car off next week at the body shop. I'm going to toss in a few bucks of my own over and above the insurance check and have the entire car repainted. I was planning on just having it repainted black... the original color. However, my buddy has a 2001 millennium yellow Corvette and we were talking yesterday about the color of his car when he mentioned I should get my SS painted the same color. Hmmm??? That got me thinking about it

Do any of you guys have pics of a Camaro in millennium yellow? If so, could you email them or post a link for me to try and help me make up my mind. The wheels that'll be going on the car will either be Boyd Coddington Blasters or Torque Thrust IIs. Both with 11s in the rear Either one of those I think would look pretty good!

I'm kind of partial to electron blue. If you go millenium yellow, see how bright they can get it first.

That's strange that Brent doesn't have a pic of a millenium yellow Camaro on his website.

I'm not 100% sure that thats the Millenium Yellow, but I am almost postive (Is it?)
I have also seen a couple other Yellow LT1's, and they all looked great!
I would go for it and throw on the Torque Thrusts

Sorry, the link doesn't work
Some guy by the name of z28kid on FBody.com has his painted that color. if you can't find it anywhere else, just go there and do a search for his name. Its in his sig.
Good luck!

Brent, think about how much your Z sticks out. Now think about how baddass it would be to add a Yellow SS next to it. Alot of cars are black, not as much are yellow.

Go for it.

Where's a pic of the Boyd rims?

if you do it, make sure you have the headlight area painted the body color. I think that looks much cleaner than the yellow/black

I like yellow on the 69-73 camaro's, and it doesnt look too shabby on a 4th gen either, but I would stick with black

Cool

Thanks for the opinions, guys!

I like both black and yellow. The yellow would really stand out and break the car apart from all the other Camaros for sure. However, I don't know if I like yellow THAT much more than black to spend a lot of extra money. So, looks like it is going to come down to cashola If the yellow is a lot more than black, I'll stick with black. If it isn't, well, then I'll have to decide

81z28kid, I'll see if I can find a picture of it with the Boyd rims. If not, I'll take one

ProjectRS, around here you are considered to have a highly modified Camaro if you have a Flow Master exhaust!!! Nobody has TT IIs on any brand car around here

My boyfriend has an '00 Millenium yellow C5 and gets a lot of attention in it. The Millenium is a 3-paint process so it's probably going to cost more because of that. You could go with another yellow like "Aztek Yellow" like 98snakeeatr. Or.....keep it black get some flames on it!!
