Faded and CRACKED vinyl usually means cheap vinyl... make sure you buy the good stuff for your stripes!!!

I removed my stripes and just peeled them off with only my fingernails and fingers There was some residual adhesive left behind around the edges and in the centers in some areas and I removed that with bumper sticker remover (like Goo Gone or similar).

Since your stripes are cracked they might not come up too good just by peeling them so if you use a heat gun to make them a bit more gooey, that might help a bit.

Good luck!

yeah these were cheap stripes. I tried the fingernail way but it just flakes and its tough to get off.I dont have a heat gun so would a hair dryer work?

Yeah, a hair dryer will work too. But, it sounds to me (because the vinyl is the cheap stuff and it cracked on you) that this is just going to be a time consuming thing to do. If you get a hard plastic squeege it might help to save your figernails a bit
