Removing the Trim around the hatch glass on a 4th gen.
Has anyone ever removed the rubber trim around the back hatch glass on a 4th gen? Is it held on by glue? Once its removed can it be reinstalled or is a new peice required?
Yes, it is glued on and it can be replaced.
Mine was coming off at the ends and it looked awful so I bought a new piece from the dealership. It comes in like a 8 ft long cardboard tube though so make sure you take a truck to pick it up. It is easy to install. I left mine out in the sun for a few hours to let it soften up some and then it just stuck right on like the old one. It has been close to 5 years since I did this and it still looks good.

Im not too sure what you are talking about the piece on the ends, but yea, mine shrunk up too, it is all one long piece. Put a little super glue on the ends to make sure it stays there for good.
Eldiablo, I do not remember how much mine cost exactly but it wasn't too bad, less than $20 i think.

Mine was also missing pieces on the corners, but I think that it shrunk and just came apart at those points. I bought a new one at a dealership, don't remember what it cost, but it is all one piece and there is already a sticky adhesive on the inside to adhere it to the glass. I started with the corners and then worked my way around the top and rear of the glass- it was a breeze.
I believe the factory strip between AT LEAST '93 and '95 was in multiple pieces. Mine is like that too.
The '02 has 1 solid piece though.
The '95 has gaps in the front glass one too near the mirrors.

You are referring to the weather stripping for the side windows everyone else is referring to the black trim around the rear hatch glass.

maybe mine has always just been damaged, but mine on the '95 is made of separate pieces or pieces that have separated. It has looked like this ever since the car was new in '95 (unless I somehow have had a memory problem). Here's a comparison to the '02.
Try to ignore the fact that the '95 is dirty and the glue is rotten.
If any of you have '93 to '95 Camaros and can prove that they didn't come from the factory with these gaps, I'd be interested in seeing it.
About the gaps near the mirrors, I was talking about the windshield. The windshield's trim doesn't go all the way around like our other Camaro's does. There is a small gap on each side.
