Removing tar from interior of car

I just bought my step daughter a 99 Eclipse and apparently when it is hot, tar melts inside the car and has gotten on some of the interior (door panel, carpet, floor mat, sill plate, seat belt, etc) in spots. I'd like to be able to remove this to clean the inside of the car up for her but I am not sure what to use to get rid of it. I have bug and tar remover but I'd hate to stink up the inside of the car with the fumes from that stuff. I've never seen this happen with a vehicle before. What would some suggestions be to remove this? Thanks!

you might try oderless mineral spirits. but i would test a hidden spot in the car to make sure it wont effect the dye. it might stink for a day ior so but it wont stick around.

I think I will give that a try tomorrow since the weather will pretty much ruin all my other outdoor plans this weekend. Thanks again.
