removing and reinstalling door seals

My door seals are in fairly good condition, no rot or swelling. But water runs down the A pillar and behind the seal down the dash by the fuse panel.
I removed the windshield trim piece and siliconed between C channel piece that holds the seal to the A pillar. It leaked the very next day, but this time I was in the car watching it with the A pillar cover off. I can see that the water is getting in between the seal itself and the C channel the seal is pressed into. Now I want to remove the seal and reglue it into the channel. Does anybody have any pictures or tips and tricks for me to remove this without damaging the old seal. I dont need to go around the whole door just the A pillar portion. I know there is a screw at the top corner and one down by the mirror, but are there any retainer pins or anything in between holding it on? Should i use a heat gun?

I've attached pages from the 1994 Service Manual covering weatherstrip replacement. If you're wanting to re-glue a small section of the weatherstrip, I would try using a putty knife to loosen the weatherstrip in the area you're concerned about. Clean the area good, apply new contact type adhesive and wait until it's no longer tacky, then press the weatherstrip into place making sure it seals like you want.
