Removing Door Panels

Are there any tricks to removing door panels?

I am replacing mine and wanted to know if there is anything special I needed to know before I started replacing them.

Thanks, in advance!

Also if you call it names it seems to come off easier......maybe that just works for me? j/k, like he said, make sure you have all of the screws out, otherwise you'll be saying naughty words and throwing tools!

I don't know how different Firebirds are from Camaros, but on mine, there is one hidden in the way back of the long, pocket thing, one on the handle that's WAY deep (the one you pull to close the door), maybe some inside the window/power lock place (is ther a name for all these places?), and one near the outside mirror (I think). Remember to pull up and out when pulling the whole thing off.

I believe there are like 4 screws...Just going from memeory so don't hold me to it, but I believe that there are two on the inside the little armrest thing where u can put change or whatnot...and then one on the lock and handle cover and then one more holding the arm to the door panel, its recessed on the bottom of the part you grap for the door...u might also have to take off that little triangle piece near the a-pillar...

...after all that the only other thing that I can suggest is when you take it off lift up not straight out cause the clips are designed so the panel has to be lifted up first

Also the little lock thing has to be removed first as well..the thing with the orange sticker on it, it just snaps off(a little more difficult to get on though)

Hope this helps

yeah there are 5 screws. one of them may not need to come out, its the one under the power window switch. its easier to take off the cover on the back of the mirror too. i just took my door panel off 20 minutes ago to adjust the glass

NO!

If you think they are "snaps" or plastic ribbed thingys like on the 3rd gens, you'll be breaking your door panel There are "L" shapped tabs that in order to "release" them you must first push the door panel UP about 1/4 to 1/2" THEN pull out. If you pull out without first pushing up, you'll break stuff
