Re: Remove the standard auto shift ****
turn key in ON position
pull shift lever all the way back to 1st gear...
on the front side (facing dash) there is a metal clip
pull metal clip out with needle nose pliers
lift **** straight off.
should take you 30 seconds....
good luck with your new ****.

Re: Remove the standard auto shift ****
is it possible to get the auto adapter seperately, or do you need to buy the shifter with it? I noticed in an ebay auction for a **** they mentioned the adapter. Also, do you know if you have the adapter can you use basically any type of manual **** that'll fit on a manual camaro?

Not sure, but I'm told that the automatic **** is different from the manual one in that it is a 2" **** with a tail. MBA sells the 2" **** as automatic and the 2-1/4 for manual use only. The 2" automatic **** comes with an adapter and is a push down and shift type.
Check out there site: http://www.mbaproducts.com/
As for the other type ***** I don't really know...
Re: Remove the standard auto shift ****
I won't be using my adapter anymore if you want it... i'm just going to save my **** for my six speed conversion.... email me.
should be the same thread... i don't see why MBA would use two different threads....
by the way, IMO the 2" **** fits in my hand very nicely... i think a 2 1/2 would feel funny...
i remember the stock **** on my 93 6spd feeling really "fat"
take it light guys
