Remove PAINTED pinstriping??

I just bought a new daily driver/winter ride. The car is mint and the paint is flawless...except for the UGLY painted pinstripe. It also has 3 small painted initials by the door handles. It looks to be enamel. Can anyone HELP give me some advise on how to remove them?

if its a winter car, then dont worry, if the paint is good condition then i wouldnt do anything that might ruin it.

Yeah I don't want to ruin the paint. I was hoping someone whould have a way to break down or disolve the enamel without harming the clearcoat. I can live with the pinstripe but I'd really like to get the initials off...out of pure dumb luck they happen to be my x-wife's initials!

I've used oven cleaner in the past to remove lettering from my race car. Didn't hurt the paint, but it was old air dry enamal.

Use some turpantine and a copper brush.
If that fails, just get out the grinder and cut them out.
You have to get rid of your ex's initials one way or another man!

If they still won't go away - sell the car - to her, after you cut the brakes...........
