Rearview mirror

Man how the HELL do you get the rearview mirror off the windshield.Is there a hidden screw.A magic word,what.I don't want to pry on it.I just can't find a screw or anything to remove it with.

1. Open Rear Hatch
2. Tie rope to Rear View Mirror
3. Tie rope to 2006 3500HD
4. Start 3500HD
5. Shift to Drive, press gas.
????

I wrap my fist around the base and tap it with my other hand and thats what made it come off.

i usually just take a screwdriver and pry one side of the metal clip out and then it'll just pop right off.

Yes the metal band thats on the mirror is what clips on and locks the mirror in place.

I'll tell you the easy way...

If you have an automatic, just remove the shifter ****. Remove the staple holding it on, and when you finally force the SOB off, you'll usually knock the crap out of your rearview mirror and it will fall right off
