Real leather vs Leather like Vinyl

I got a good deal on a set of Trans Am seats. The rear seat is fine but the fronts are in bad need of being recovered. I want exact reproduction covers not some custom Ebay crap. I've been looking at getting new covers for the fronts and i have a 2 options. I can either get two new front leather covers from www.leatherseats.com for about $550 i believe or i can get a complete set of front and rear leather like hampton vinyl from www.hawksthirdgenparts.com for $400. What i don't know is which would be better? I would think the Vinyl would wear better and last longer than the leather. I would love to replace my car with leather rather than vinyl just to say i have leather and have the leather smell. Which do you think would be a better to use in a daily driver? Based on wear and durability. Anyone have any experience with the two materials?
