Custom blue/silver w/ embroidery front/rear leather seats
Custom blue/silver w/ embroidery front/rear leather seats
Last weekend I finally installed my custom leather seat upholstry.
The front and rear seats are now Blue and Silver (To match the exterior of the car) as well as custom, digitized embroidered "Z28" in Blue w/ silver outlining, and "25th Anniversary" in red on the front seats.
Took over 20 hours (Sat & Sun) for me to remove the seats from the car, remove the old upholstery (factory light grey "p"leather), install the new custom leather upholstery, hog ring, cut out holes for screws, bolts, headrest, etc, and take lots of pictures along the way.
I am doing a complete review on the seats which is why all the pics were necessary and why it took so long. After much aching hands, fingers, back, cuts.. finally got them installed and into the car.
Here are some pics of them in the car. Note: These are not the best quality. They were taken during sundown and I've yet to have been able to take good pics when it's sunny (always raining on the weekend).
The blue on the seats might look shiny but that is because of the flash on the camera reflecting. Just letting you know since people are accusing me of painting for the seats, or they are too glossy.. ;-)

Personally I am very happy with the results. Definately looking forward to going to the next bunch of car shows next year. :-)

I donno man, I think I would have stayed with the stock colors, just because I like sleek interiors vs. flashy ones. But Looks like you did a quality job putting them in, how is the leather quality? Where did you get them? local shop?

Very nice, but I would be partial to those colors since I did my interior in the almost the same color. Royal blue and light gray. I'm painting my fiberglass rear seat enclosure silver too.

works fine for me, check your browser settings, or you can go to my page
http://camaroz28.cardomain.com/id/stangkilla1 (page 3, interior page)
http://camaroz28.cardomain.com/id/stangkilla2 (page 8, fiberglass and carbon fiber) to see the install pics, the full set will be up tommorow, and it will be worth it. People are already telling me that I've done $3000 worth of fiberglass work WITHOUT THE PAINT and not including the glass headliner, so check the pages out and I;ll update my thread tommorow. It's in the appearance section.

In regards to Cardomain, it seems to only work for me if I copy/paste the url directly into the browser. If I click it directly from in the message board it loads that error page from cardomain
Re: Custom blue/silver w/ embroidery front/rear leather seats
Yea somethings up with the server today, I've been tryin to upload new pics of the boxes and console in the car. It wont let me update so I'll try later.
On the 6x9 speaker grills, it's simple and will take you only 5 minutes. No dye needed.
1) You have to go to a fabric shop like "Hancocks", and find some medium weight polyester knit. It's a lil like t-shirt material but it's thicker.
2) buy a can of spray adhesive
3) spray your old grill with the glue, lay your fabric down, leaving about an inch of extra material on the edges.
4) wait a few minutes for the glue to set and wrap the extra material to the back of the piece and your done!!!
I was lucky and saw it when i first walked in the store, but it's real cheap ($2-4 per yard, 30x56 being a yard). My new plans might include molding those same grills in fiberglass and adding 6", 4", and 3.5" mids (in order from top to bottom. My homeboy wants me to mold the grills into the rear boxes and the headliner. I dont know about that but hell, we"ll see!!
