rAm air hood( 93-97)
rAm air hood( 93-97)
Im new to the forum, but ive got a 95 formula and id like to put a ram air( factory style IE 95 firehawk) hood on my car. Ive seen a few different companies make the hood, i know suncoast creatiosn sells one, and harwood has one. My question is, which one is closest to the gm one, i think the harwood one is a little bit closer to the gm one than the SC. what do you guys think? if theres a better brand , also let me know.
thanks guys

I would have to say the suncoast creation hood. Heres pics of my husbands http://www.hpiv.net/zhawk.html
Re: rAm air hood( 93-97)
www.americansportscardesigns.com also manufactures a 97 style WS6 hood for your car Rex
Re: rAm air hood( 93-97)
a 93-95 firehawk hood is not the same as the 96-97 ws6 hood. however, in 96 i believe the lt4 hawks had the ws6 hood and in 97 all hawks had the ws6 hood (i think that is how it went..i know some of the 96 and 97 had the ws6 style and not the older firehawk style hood).
most of the aftermarket brands mimic the ws6 hood. the difference is the ws6 hood nostrils are about half and inch or so taller. a lot of people dont even notice the difference.
i would recommend getting one from slp.

Re: rAm air hood( 93-97)
i would get the one from suncoastcreations. the ram air scoops extend all the way to the front of the hood, where the others don't. like Walkovaya said, the early firehawk hood are different than the ws6 hoods. the early firehawk hoods are similar to the pro am hood which look like the scoop is placed on top of the hood instead of molded into the design. i have a predator hood from suncoast and i had no problems w/ fitment.
