Racing Stripes on the SS Hood
Racing Stripes on the SS Hood
Hey guys, This is my 1st post but just wanted to ask a simple....and probably pretty dumb question.
I own a 2001 Monte Carlo SS with a SS style hood on it - www.MPD-INC.net . My question is that I want to get the racing stripe that you see on Camaros that start out as a racing stripe and fade to a flag. I've only seen it on a red Camaro. My car is silver and I want to get this painted on in a cameleon color changing from the silver [so you cant see it] to a black.
Just wanted to know you guy simput and where I can find some good close ups of these stripes so I can show it to a body shop!
Pics of my car are here if you care to look at it now!!

Cameleon color? I heard that's one of the most expensive paint jobs someone can do. Along with Candy colors often found on Saleens and some imports. Insane amount of money for a paint job, personally. Really nice ride you got there. Thanks for being original.
Hey guys, thanx for the replies about my car!
The paint I want wont be to awfully bad since its only changing from the stock silver [so it will be invisable] to either a black or dark grey.
I'll have to look into the rims as having ones custom made are no problem.
Alittle more info on the car is that I'm sponsored by MPD, Nu-Line, and SR Creations. Its a 2001 and I've owned the car since it was new and I was 15. I'm 18 now and have put over 7K in it. The interior is in the process of being redone in Carbon Fiber and peices painted silver to match the exterior paint alone with new gauges and gauge pods.
MPD is comming out with a new front fascia that I helped them with and should be out in the next few months and is planned to be a big hit.
In the next month or two I will hopfully be the 1st Monte Carlo SS with a turbo under the hood and with it alone I hope to hit 14s...and thats only the beginning.
Big plans for the car and I'll try to keep yall updated as much as I can. Again, appreciate the help!!!

itll be a somewhere in the t3/t4 area, but not any smaller then that. Piping and money are still comming in...the only problem right now is money, lol. We never even talked about twins because quite frankly I'm struggling with the 3 other projects at hand going on around the car and havent even seen the thing in 4 days. Plan to pick it up today after underglows blew something and shorted out my system and other lights. So hopfully I can cruise!!
