Changing taillights, even to the clear or Altezza style, will have the rice police on you faster than flies on poop. Upgrading the lenses to a more current year, or even the export taillights is ok though.

Here is the opinion part. To me, that screams fake/poser/wannabe. Corvette taillights belong on Corvettes, not Camaros, Hondas, Nissans, whatever. There are a few Hondas that I have seen with Vette taillights, and I think it looks horrific.

I know you want your car to be different, and there is nothing wrong with that. I just hope you give a good amount of consideration to what you are doing, before you do it.

Yeah i've thought about it alot and i came to the conclusion that I do want to do it.

I know its just your opinion and i respect it but the word "rice" is better applied to stuff that you put on your car that make it look like your car is fast when in reality its not. For example wings, they are used on super fast cars to apply down force yet people put them on their Hondas to "look" fast. I just dont see how this is "rice"

By that same opinion you can say that ss spoilers and hoods on z28s or v6s are rice(they dont belong on v6s or z28s) Its all part of the custom aspect of cars. Imagine where'd we be if someone never put a grill or certain parts from other cars onto other cars?

imo, if I saw your car with vette taillights crusing down the road I would say "WTF!!!". I know a lot of people on CZ28 think the taillights look good though. That's just my opinion.

...but, I like the European Corvette lights very much - they look good when not lit - but still have the amber bulb to set the apart. They just belong on a 'Vette...

I'll tell you what I think would look hot, having those taillights, with the inside clear lights as reverse lights with clear bulbs and the outside clear lights with orange bulbs as blinkers.

As far as opinions, its your car, do what YOU want. Your opinion is what counts here.

I'm of the opinion that C5 lights belong on C5's, not Camaro's. Maybe I'd have to see it before making a final decision, but my first impression so far is

But, that shouldn't discourage you from doing it if that's what you want. You asked for opinions and I gave mine.

It's funny how someone could call putting a domestic taillight on another domestic car "rice." Not only is it ignorant, but it ruins the entire meaning of "rice." Ah well, that's MY opinion.
