Question about reuplstering seats.

Hey, I'm going to get rid of the dark grey leather on my seats and redo them with some sort of cloth. I like the style of the 93-96 seat much better than the 97-02 seats. So I was wondering if I could just replace the foam to the 93-96 spec? Or would I have to go to the junkyard and get some 93-96 seats and then reuplster those?

The seat frames and foam are the same. You can simply replace the covers with the covers you want. I went with www.leatherseats.com on mine. They do some very quality work and can add a great custom look to your interior designed how you want it.

My website is down for right now, but I have a pic of my seats on my cardomain site: http://www.cardomain.com/id/ernster500

Ernie your car looks good. I'm going to do a black and white combo in my Z. I plan to go with some 97+ repo seats from hawks third gen. They told me they can make them with black outside and white inside. I was planning on getting my 93-96 seats covered with the 97+ covers so i hope you're right and it does work. Where did you get your shift boot done at? I'll probably upgrade to the 97+ console but then i would like to get a white boot made too.

The shift boot was also made by the guys at www.leatherseats.com .

It's leather made out of the same color material as the seat inserts.

Thanks for checking it out!

I bought my leather interior from leatherseats.com as well and I can attest to the high quality and great customer service from leatherseats.com. You can see my pictures at projectcamaro.com/mycamaro.htm

okay, hijackers, I am redoing my 99 leather seats to the 93-96 style cloth seats. So can I use the same foam? I would think I'd have to change the foam myself.

He gave you the answer right there? Why are you still asking if the foam is the same? If i was you i would try to trade yours for some 93-96 seats and get some cash out of the deal. I think you would get more selling your 97+ seats complete and then buying some ragged out cloth ones to recover. Then you wouldn't have to worry about the foam issue.
