Power Seats in a NON Power Seat Car???

Not Sure where this thread exactly goes but thought i would try it here. I sat in a t/a with power seats and it seems like i got a ton more room then in my car with manual seats. Is it possibly to put power seats in a non power seat car? BTW Did a search but didn't see anything.

Yes. This is not that hard, the seats bolt in and then you just have to power them.

Tap into a hot wire at the fuse box. just run the wire under the carpet to the connection and use a inline fuse..

Is it possible to buy power rails and convert my existing manual seats to power?

i have a power seat that came in my 96 ss (gray leather) that work fine. i need to switch to a racing seat for the 5 point harness so i am willng to part with these i guess. make a offer if you want . i'll even trace the wire and cut out the harness and end that with it and take photos of everything to help you get it all wired up.

Why would you need "power rails"?

I almost guarantee the wiring harness is pre-installed at the factory and you need only to add the seats and plug the harnesses together...

I was trying to avoid having to buy a new power seat. I just wanted to upgrade my existing manual seat.

if you want the controls which you most likely will you do need to get your hands on a power rail yes but you can get them from almost any junk yard or on ebay for fairly cheap.

I swapped a power seat in mine, and the power and ground were already run and everything, just plugged it in and went.
