Powder Coating Preparation

I am going to powder coat my intake (LT1), and I am wondering what the best way to prep the intake is. I know that the metal has to be VERY clean, I am just wondering what others have done to get it ready.

I had all my parts bead blasted before I took them to be coated. Many coaters figure in the cost of prep to their prices.

I found a place that will do it, but they mainly do large stuff in black. I have to buy the color (red), and I am wondering if foil tape will work to mask it off. Also, does the tape have to stay on, or can it come off before going into the oven?
