Because as stated earlier, the 96-97 spoiler doesn't have the LED 3rd brake light. Also the flip is higher too.

Re: Possible Spoiler Change

No offense or nothing, but that spoiler is kinda ugly. I have a 3" spoiler in primer that I will sell ya if you deicde to go for it. But the 3" spoiler is definately my vote.

Re: Possible Spoiler Change

But it'd be easier to convert the 3rd brakelight to LED than to have to cut the pillars off and then refiberglass. The flip being higher is a bigger difference tho.

I don't see how it would be any easier to convert the the 96-97. You'd have to cut off the "bubble" that holds the stock brake light. Then you'd have to glass and smooth that back in. Then you'd have to cut and mount the LED light. Doesn't sound any easier to me.

Re: Possible Spoiler Change

Unscrew the 3rd brake light's housing, remove the bulbs, and then rig up a circuit board with some 15 or so LEDs (which really is not hard, people do it for their map and dome lights), wire straight to wiring that the bulb used, screw housing back in... Not that hard

Because then you still have a spoiler that has a stock style brake light. Aren't you the one thats always bitching about how a car has to be different than everyone else's car. . If i was going to get another spoiler i would want one with a higher flip and the smooth look of the 98+SS LED.

Nevermind, I understand what you mean now ( aside from the immature personal flame ), thought you just wanted LED over a light bulb.

Re: Possible Spoiler Change

lol wow that Z29R emblem on that mechem pic is the riciest thing i've ever seen.

Spoiler doesn't look horrible, but it's kind of a cross between a Z28 spoiler and a bent Z28 spoiler.

98+ SS spoiler is the best one you can get, freedom doesn't look bad either, but it isn't my first choice.
