That one comes from Todd 2001SS (you may want to look at some of his site pics).

That one comes from Eastwood, the company you would be best off using to get all your supplies. It is detailed for wheels, but can be helpful in other areas as well.

I'm talking about taking a painted item to a polished finish.

Strip the paint off of the item with "Aircraft Stripper" (available at Wal-Mart) and then see the two guides I posted above.

How hard would you expect it to be to strip and poilish some silver stock 5 spoke TA wheels? Would it even be worth it to try?

Stripping is simple - it's just a matter of spraying that stuff on there, letting it sit about 15 minutes, then rinsing/rubbing it off (USING GLOVES!!!) - then repeat until it's stripped. It's simple stuff really, not even laboriuos.

Polishing a previously unpolished wheel is a MAJOR pain in the butt. Not only does it take a very very long amount of time it takes a lot of work, and tons of elbow grease.

It just depends on how bad you want it and how much you enjoy it. Just sand it with all the different grades of sand paper from coarse to rough, then start the polishing. It ain't fun or easy, but it makes wheels pretty.
