Exclamation Plated Rotors W/ Painted Calipers

Hey All,

I decided to paint my calipers black and put on the "Camaro" brake caliper decals, which I think would look great with the polished "SS" wheels and pewter color, BUT I HATE how the old crappy looking rotors that the car came with look.

I saw these drilled and slotted zinc plated rotors, and I really like the way look and think they would look good with the rims and pewter color.

Does anyone know how effective these are and how durable they are BUT how hard are they to replace over the stock ones??

If anyone has info on these PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

here is a link to the rotors:

Re: Plated Rotors W/ Painted Calipers

I have those exact rotors. They are good. My car lives in the garage and never sees the rain so they are holding up well. My sons 98 LS1 has them and his are starting to rust a little more but still seem to be holding up pretty good. Installing them is very easy. Just remove the brakes and pull the old ones and put on the new ones. Go with some good brake ceramic brake pads to keep the dust away from your wheels. I am sure there are better rotors out there but for the price these seem ok to me. Look in my Garage at the bottom is a pic of the wheel with those rotors and the Camaro emblem on the caliper.

Re: Plated Rotors W/ Painted Calipers

Thanks for the help!

I do have to drive in the rain to work sometimes as my Camaro is my daily driver so I don't know if it is worth changing it out now.

Can I ask how long your son has on them on his car before they showed signs of wear and rust??

Thanks!

They just have minor rust on the area where they bolt to the wheel. He has had them on for about 1.5years. Good luck.

I have those rotors too, yes they will rust on the outer edges after about a year and dirt will build up in the holes, but I have the hubs painted and the rotors are awesome, the finish is still smooth as new and they do improve braking power, the price is great and they are a appearance improvement as well, I think they are definitly worth it. They are more durable than cheap stock replacement rotors and at the same price, I have 40,000 miles on mine and the pad surface is still smooth like glass.

just paint the hubs, take your time and put some heavy coats on the outer rims of the rotors, then they won't rust.

And they won't keep that zinc coating, that will wear off and the rotors will be a dark brown steelish color just like all stock rotors.
