Re: Pics of my z.. / stereo
The pipes are a sore subject to say the least. If you measure from axle to tip of exhaust they are actually square, BUT!!! the genious who fabbed up my exhaust did not take into account that the pipes needed to exit aproximately at identical points on the rear bumper. Instead now, the driver side tip looks like it sticks out further then the passenger side, it is on my listo**** to fix this summer

There are so many things you can do with a system that its hard to say what the "best" is. First thing is, if your going to build a system.. save up and do it once, and do it right!! otherwise you waste money on things that don't last or you decide you don't like. To me the best is what you find to fit your needs. For me I don't listen to much rap so 10's were my best choice, just happend that I came across the subs/box for my car and couldn't be happier. I would say any headunit that plays wmv, mp3, from a respectible company ie pioneer, alpine ect.. then replace the stock speakers with matching compenents if you can, I didn't I went with alpine "basically high end pioneer anyways" Then after you pick out your subs, get some respectable amps, one for compenents "small amp" and one for subs, "big" not some $150 8000watt amp that fits in your palm, if you are truely into audio be ready to pay around $1.00 to $0.70 per every watt advertised by the amp. Also make sure it meets the ohm requirements that you will be feeding into it. And back to doing it right the first time.. invest in a quality amp installation kit, anything from JL, or Pheonix Gold works great and be ready to spend $60-100 just on that, find a good ground "passenger side seatbelt bolt for me" and runs your wires clean to prevent any problems. If your going to run a high watt amp, and want to feed it well, a stinger dry cell battery and a 1-2 farad capacitor is not a bad idea either. "Which I did" But once you have everything set a clean install is unbeatable, I like the fact that mine looks like it belongs there and no wires are visable "depends on the amp you go with" I know I kinda went off on a rant here but everything I have learned is through my failures and experiences over the past 8 years, and nearly 5 different systems. OH and another thing, when installing your head unit, take the time to solder the connections and heat shrink the wires, just another preventive bit of extra work.
