Pics of my z.. / stereo

Finally got some quick picks of the car today, the lighting sucked but basically all I have done is reflective black overlays, hockeystripes, painted calipers, clear lenses, black out covers in the rear, new exhaust tips, painted interior, and removed front plastic grill and relocated front license plate, and the stereo itself. The box is motorized and was originally made by JL, no longer offered though, I believe it was only made for a year. Also have a picture of my front LED light for my police duties. Also a shot of the controller for my front/rear strobes.

Re: Pics of my z.. / stereo

Yeah, sadly enough I am a police officer, I work for a small municipality out here in Nebraska. I live 6 miles out of town and so I was required to purchase emergency lighting and a siren for my vehicle if I didn't want to take a cruiser home every night (back up reasons, only one officer on duty at a time). Kind of funny though, people treat my car like its an actual police car, like won't speed, and drive all careful. Then I go buy with a loud stereo and exhaust, feel like a hypocrit sometimes but its all good, my seargent said he would shoot me in the foot if I purchased a C5 because it would attract to much attention, so I did the next best thing!

Re: Pics of my z.. / stereo

I have only had one incident where a kid wanted to race me "keep in mind I have the only ls1 fbody in town" yeah its that small. Anyways he was a new kid to transfer in from a neighboring town and he has a riced out honda, he pulled up behind me and starting revving and acting like he wanted to go run em, Just so happens that I was heading to work at that moment so I was in full uniform and "bat belt", I pulled into the nearest quickstop and when he pulled in along side I stepped out of my car, the look on his face was priceless, He appologized about 10thousand times and then left, it was all I could do to keep from laughing while he was there.

Is that "sub lifting shock looking thing" custom fabbed? I have not seen anything like that before. Pretty neat idea, to be able to use the space below the subs.

Nice looking car, btw. I especially like the "Camaro" on the passenger side of the front bumper. It looks like it should have came stock like that.

Re: Pics of my z.. / stereo

The entire sub box/assembly was originally from JL audio, it cost way to much money and it never sold, luckily I found a stereo shop that had one someone had ordered but never came back for, "sat in his shop for 4 years" it was unfinished and required some body work, I sanded prepped filled ect.. and then covered it with rhino lining of all things, I was worried at first on how it would come out but it looks great, very glad i did it. The way it functions is that there is 2 heavy peices of angle iron that required holes to be drilled and 3/8's bolts ran through the floors, after that you adjust the hinges on the box until you get a decent fit and on the right hand side there is a 200lb actuator with a switch on the right had side plastic paneling, it raises to the the up position you see and leaves enough room for my t-top shades, second battery and capacitor. I use to have a video of this box when it was in my TA but it has long since been lost. If anyone wants more information on it let me know and I will see what I can dig up.
