PICS of custom projector install!!

Ok I finally got the pics working correctly. I did a custom HID projector install using E-Code Audi A3 HID projectors into my 97 30th Ann. Z28. The project took a long time but in the end it payed off. The finished product turned out better than I thought and now im just waiting to receive my new Hella/Philips HID kit in the mail. Go to this link:

Take a look and let me know what you think.
If you have any questions feel free to ask.
Thanks

I was just thinking of doing a similar thing with my 2000. What I was thinking in cutting a hole in the reflector and installing it like that. My drivers side reflector has a small crack in it already anyway. Then it will look somewhat stock just instead of the bulb it will have a round light. I haven't seen anyone do this. From what I understand if you install an HID kit and use the stock reflector it doesn't really optimize the HID bulb, that is where this though came from. Also on ebay people are always selling HID lights from factory cars.

I guess if someone has tried this or thinks it would work I would be interested.

How much were the AUDI units?

Did you get them from a junk yard ?

If so, how did you test the ballasts before buying them ?

I purchased the Hella Ballasts and Philips 4300K D2S bulbs brand new so I dont have to worry any problems with those. As for the A3 HID projectors I got those from Henrylampa on ebay for $150 for the pair. I was able to meet him in person so I could see what I was buying. They are the E-code projectors so they came from Germany somewhere.

I havent seen anyone do that in 98+ Camaros however there are tons of people that have done the same thing in other types of cars that also have large reflector housings. Go to this site:
http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/index.htm
and look around under HID retrofits there are pics and installs of your exact plans. It will not be easy and require lots of time, but if you have the patience it can be done. The main thing is making sure the projector will be 100% air tight, and perfectly level. The guy I bought my Audi A3 projectors from has his own ebay store just do a search for Henrylampa and you will have a large selection of projectors and HID components. He happens to be local to me here in Chicago so I was able to meet up with him in person and decide what was best for my car.
Hope this helps.

P.S. how much would you pay me to do it for ya? :-)I could have it done in a week with the HID projector of your choice with Hella ballasts and Philips D2S bulbs. If interested let me know im very good with this type of stuff.

Looks like I didn't have an original idea. I see other people have done this, looks like quite a few look good. It looks like it would turn out well. Thanks for all the information!!
