pics with 285's on the rear?

I am thinking of going 275/40-17 on front and 285/40-17 on the rear. I would like to see some pics of anyone who has them to see if the sidewall difference is much noticable if at all?

Talking

I went 285/40 on both front and rear because the 285/40 KDWs were on special for $30 a pop less than the 275s.

I dont have pictures on hand right now, but you would have to look very carefully to see the difference. And if anything it looks better

Hey, I saw this thread and it got me thinking. Of you guys with the 285's, is anyone running a 9" wide wheel, or is everyone at 9.5" or wider? My wheels are 17x9" and I currently have 275's, but I would like to go to 285 if the wheel width can handle it. If you go straight by the book, BF Goodrich (I'm getting KDWS), says you need a minimum 9.5" wheel for a 285 tire. Since they're not all that much wider, I'm wondering if I'll have problems.

So, I'm looking for any of you with 285's and 9" wide wheels to see if you have problems and how you like them.

You Can fit a 285 size tire on a 9 inch rim...no problem . You figure a 275 size tire is about 10.83 inches wide and a 285 size tire is 11.22 inches wide, so you see its very close. Heck, I am about to put 285s on my WS6 rims, I say go for it. And some food for thought people have even put 315s on 9inch rims, search for it on the board..you'd be surprised.

Good Luck

Well, that's what I figured, but I figured I would ask around. The difference is literally 1cm, so I wouldn't think it would matter that much. So that'll get me 1cm closer to the steam roller look! I would try 315's, but I'm too chicken. Plus, I like being able to still rotate between front/rear.

You might want to go with 275/35/18's. They seem to be a more common size, and the best part is they retain the same height as the stock set up on an Fbod, meaning speedo will still be accurate.

I have pics of my tires in sig (c5 setup)

No, they are not stock for my '93Z, but they are stock for the LS1 Camaro's (98+). I did the LS1 brake swap because the LT1 brakes were so tiny looking with 17" wheels. 18's in front would have looked even sillier, brake wise
