Cool Which Percent Of Tint To Go With?

Hey everybody, I was planning on getting my windows tinted and I was thinking of what percent of tint I should go with. I was thinking about doing 35% on the driver and passenger side window and on the rear 20%. Would this be enough? Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly apprecaited. Thanks for your time and help.

Of course, check your local laws but I would do 20% all the way around. IMO, any darker than that is just dangerous. I had 5% on one car and it was TOO dark at night... down right dangerous. 20% gives a decent balance of still looking dark during the day but at least you can see out of it "a little" at night

I know in AL, front windows have to be less than 35%, and everything else is up to you. I personally have 20% all around and it is kinda hard at night. Sometimes I have to roll down the window at night. Sure looks good though.

well, I have 5% all around on my Impala and it is pretty dark. I actually got a ticket for it 2 months ago. I am going to get the T/A tinted and am either going with 15 or 20% all around, just haven't decided which one yet.

Haha newb question! The percentages are what, how much UV light gets through? Here I thought 5% tint was like factory tinting (barely tinted). Also, to get limo tint on the rear hatch and 5% on the driver's and passenger's window for $250, is that a good price?

I had 20% and it was dark at night, but not nearly dark enough in the day. I plan on getting 10 or 15%.

5% on the back, 20% on the sides. Visibility is perfect at night and nice during the day.

I did limo all the way around.....looks awesome (pic posted) and drives fine at night. Of course, thats subjective. As long as you pay attention to what you are doing, who is around you and check your blind spots, you have no problem with Limo. Yes, it is against the law, but I have had limo on every car i've had for the past 5 years and i've never had a police officer even mention it...and some of my friends are police officers. If you get pulled over, just make sure to roll down the windows.

I dunno, maybe here (phoenix, az) they dont care about it too much.....who knows. I've never had a problem and it makes the car look 10x better.

Daaammmnnnn................here's the laws in my province.
No film is permitted on the driver’s compartment, right and left. Any film may be installed on the side windows behind the driver. Any film may be applied to the rear window, provided the vehicle has 2 exterior rear view mirrors.

If your profile is correct, and your in California, the tints law for you is as follows;

TYPE - FILM + GLASS
WINDSHIELD - 4"
FRONT SIDE - 70%
BACK SIDE-(car) - ANY
BACK SIDE-(MPV) - ANY
REAR-(car) - ANY
REAR-(MPV) - ANY
L&R.MIRROR REQ. - YES
CERTIFICATE REQUIRED - NO
STICKER/LOC - NO
MEDICAL - YES

and get the 3M crap or whatever. I took mine to a place and paid for the lifetime guaranty or sumthing, i think it was 15% all around, but it seem to dark (from the outside) for me. so I took it back to get the front done with 25%, and man... I f*ucked it up...for starters, it looks like ***. the tint is not 100%, has like a greyish tone to it. 2nd. I think is the crappy kind, not the one with the lifetime. I'll do it again, but with 3M 15 or 10%. just my 2 cents.
