Unhappy Passenger rear quarter panel rattle

Does anyone know how to tighten up the rear quarter panel on the passenger side of the car? The Borla exhaust is making the panel vibrate and not only is it annoying, it sounds embarassing!
Please help!

Silly question on my part... Are you sure it's the quarter panel? I had a rattle in the same area awhile back. Wound up that somehow the wingnut holding the spare tire and jack had backed out a little and that was where MY rattle was coming from.

Hope it helps, if not good luck!

Not silly at all... I'd be the silly one if I didn't try that already

I currently took out the jack, spare tire, screw, etc. and it helped a lot. I am assuming it's that panel because from the outside, I can push in on the quarter panel and it moves quite a bit.

I appreciate the info though. Thanks!

The rear quarter panel cant "come loose" Its a piece of the unibody, it's welded to the floorpan. It could be your bumper or bumoercover, but I cant see how it could be your 1/4 panel

From my understanding, the quarter PANEL covers the bumper or any part of metal underneath it. Whatever you want to call it, it's the platic piece that has one of the red lights on it. It's not welded because it's plastic and I can push in on it.

Hope that clears any confusion for everyone. Any ideas how to get inside it or tighten it?

Thanks!

Thats the bumper cover. The q.p. is the entire metal piece that goes from the door to the taillights.

The bumpercover is held on by a bunch of small screws and thumbscrews. You can check most of them if you take out the panel inside the hatch that covers the taillights

Try putting some dynamat (sound deadener which is mainly used for car audio) on the back of the bumper cover.

That should do the trick because it'll add some weight and it'll help absorb some vibrations.
