painting rotor hubs?

i ordered a set of 4 cross drilled and slotted (all by CNC) rotors for the Z from rotormasters.com. the guy seemed pretty cool and will warranty them for any warping or cracking! i will post the quality of them, with pics, once i get them. anyway, my question is this:

they are not coated (you can get them cad plated for only $50 more, but i did not). i was thinking of getting some high temp paint and painting the hub section and inside the vented area. has anybody tried this?

My buddy did this... looks good too.

I'll move this over to the Appearance Section...

how did your buddy do it? did he mask them off and spray them, or just let the paint on the friction surface get 'scraped off' on the first press of the pedal? i don't even know where i can get the drilled/slotted rotors surfaced at! they should be here next week, and pics will be on the way!

I'm 99% sure he just painted them then let the brakes take the paint off the friction surface the first time he drove it. I don't know how much this affected his braking ability when he first did it (until the paint wore off) and even if it did, the paint was probably only on there for the first couple stops

Talking

I just spray painted mine and let the pads clean the excess off. This way it looks perfectly clean because the pads create a perfectly round surface. I also did my calipers, but with a paint brush so i don't mess up the hubs.
