Painting the rear end
I painted my new one last weekend before putting it in my car.
I just cleaned it up really good and use some low gloss black engine enamel. It looks very good, and seems to hold up well. Of course, it has only been in service for a week or so now...
There was a thread not too long ago about some people using POR-15 for their rear-ends - I think Chucky's95 started the thread. May want to look for it.

Well I feel like a ding-dong, and rightly so. Man I love that search option. lol. I found the thread where people used the por-15 starter kit. I think I am going to try that and also use a wirebrush to get all the rust off first. Thank you very much for your help.
This has some pictures of mine getting done. I used 1 can of primer if i remember correctly and 2 cans of Gloss Black Rustoleom. It's held up great so far.
I've used POR15 in the past on my jeep projects. It is a great product. At the time i didn't want to spend the money on POR15 since i didn't feel the axle was going to structurally rust like a jeep would anyways. I only painted it black because i couldn't picture a fully rusty junkyard axle under my car. It's held up much better than i expected, perfectly actually, although it's only been under there just shy of a year.
