Painting LT1 intake w/o pulling it off?
Painting LT1 intake w/o pulling it off?
I will be pulling my LT1 out and while it's out cleaning it up a little and prepping it to go in another car.
Is it a good idea to mask off the surrounding area and paint the intake ON the engine or does it really need to be pulled off? I figure having the engine out of the car will make it much easier to just be able to mask it. Also, do you guys mask off the raised part and how do you reccommed polishing it afterward? Thanks

i second the vote to pull it off. to polish the top fins just use some 600 grit wet sandpaper the 800 then 1000. then finish it off with mothers mag polish
I forgot I started this thread...
I was thinking leave it on not because of time, but more that I don't really want to have to replace the seals...but maybe they don't cost very much and wouldn't be a big deal
