Be sure and clean out the screw holes!!! I started stripping the bolt hole, then the bolt broke off when I tried to extract it, and the extractor broke off. So long story short...intake #2...media blasting tomorrow, then wash and paint.

Yours looks awesome! Good Job.

^IMO too much bling for my taste, but that looks really good.

I'm not worried about the screw holes, I only have about 3 or 4 thin coats on it and about another 2 or 3 coats of clear going on tonight. Mabye I'll run my screws into it before I spray the clear. I also have the injector holes, EGR, TB, and bottom taped off so nothing gets inside. I also ordered my new PCV gromment since mine fell apart when I tried to take it out. Tomorrow I'll start cleaning up my heads, but those aren't getting painted, just cleaned up good.

And just so you know the pics don't do it justice, looks 10X better in person but everyone says that

BTW sorry critter for stealing your idea, but it looks too good not to do it(I hope you don't mind me using your pic), but this is what I'm doing with my valve covers to match to my intake...

If you have a stock gasket you can always trim it.

Unless your gaskets happen to match your head perfectly, you are better off matching your intake to the ports on the head, not to the gaskets. Gasket port holes tend to be bigger than the ports are, so they don't obstruct flow. However, you do not want the intake runners to be bigger than the head ports in any direction, as this would create a step that disturbs airflow.

Just make a template off the head and transfer the port outlines to the intake. Be very careful to get everything aligned correctly, and it's better to be a little too small than too big on the intake side.

I was going to see how the gaskets looked compared to the heads and then go from there. The heads have a really nice port job done on them and I'm sure that they are gasket matched, but thats why I'm waiting for my intake gaskets to show up.

Good news though, the intake is all painted and it looks sweet. Super shiney, looks like its still wet. Now I'm debating if I should paint my heads or leave them bare aluminum. I think I'll just clean them up and paint the block black that way I have a little contrast.
