painting air vents???

ok so the D-bag that had my camaro before me decided to paint anything he could remove from the interior of my car baby blue... including the airvents and all the door trims... its not chipping or anything im just repainting it white so it matches the black leather interior better. i bought a couple cans of white duplicolor vinyl and fabric paint. i put about 3-5 nice coats of white paint on the vents (after cleaning and preping the living **** outta them) and 2 thick coats of duplicolor clear coat so that the white doesnt get all nasty and what not. it looks pretty sexy so far but i just want your guys opions on the amount of clear im using.. i dont want the white to get all dirty and smugged..is 2 coats enough and do you think the paint and clear will hold up? anyone ever used this stuff before? also will the clear even prevent the dirtying of the white paint..... lol has anyone ever done this before?

Clear coating the parts isn't going to prevent them from getting dirty. All it will do is strengthen the resistance to chipping and bring out the color more.

ok baby blue is downright gay... i figured since im having a white headliner put in and true black carpet put in that the white trim pieces will look alot better than baby blue... i couldnt find an exact match in plastic paint to my stock interior so i decided white is the next best thing...ill put up some pics later to show the current interior and how gay its is.... then later on when i finish the interior ill post new pics

i like mine. its a dark baby blue. pretty much the blue you see on the 98-02 camaros. my vents are silver and the surrounding area is blue along with my door panels. too much paint is tacky so never paint your center counsel like i made the mistake of doing
